The Cobberdog Registry exists to support breeders who are committed to the long-term health, welfare and responsible development of the Australian Cobberdog. Our goal is simple: provide breeders with the clear information, practical tools and robust data they need to make well-informed breeding decisions.
COBR does not seek to divide breeders or replace existing communities. Instead, we are an inclusive organisation providing a transparent, accessible and scientifically grounded platform that supports the sustainable future of the breed.
The Cobberdog Registry brings breeders, owners, trainers, groomers and other Australian Cobberdog professionals together, to join forces for the betterment of the breed.

Why Join?
Access to a growing database
Good breeding decisions depend on good information. We want to bring all breeders on board to gather as much information in one place as possible. This is important for the future of the breed. Whether you register your litters with us or another registry, access the information you need to make informed breeding decisions.
Built by breeders, for breeders
Members can enter and manage their own dogs, health information and pedigrees directly within the database. All submitted information is reviewed and verified before becoming part of the permanent record. This allows COBR to remain accurate, transparent and responsive while reducing unnecessary administrative delays.
The Australian Cobberdog is now a global breed. The Cobberdog Registry is based in Europe and is committed to serving breeders around the world.
Resources and communications will be made available in multiple languages wherever possible, helping breeders access information in a way that is practical and accessible.
International, by design
The Cobberdog Registry is an independent, non-profit organisation. Voting rights belong to Full Breeder Members, and major decisions are made through transparent governance processes. The Cobberdog Registry exists to serve the breed and its community rather than any individual breeder, kennel or commercial interest.
A democratic organisation
The Cobberdog Registry maintains objective health and breeding requirements designed to support the long-term health and sustainability of the Australian Cobberdog. Breeding dogs must meet established health testing requirements before their litters can be registered with us.
Health standards that matter
Full Breeder Members can demonstrate that their dogs are recorded in a traceable registry, their breeding dogs meet COBR health requirements, their puppies receive a documented pedigree, their breeding decisions are supported by verified health- and pedigree information.

Membership Application
“Breeders have responsibilities that go well beyond themselves. These include responsibilities to the breed and the genetic health... Responsible producers leave the breed in better shape than they found it.”
To provide flexibility and accessibility for all Australian Cobberdog breeders, The Cobberdog Registry offers two classes of membership. This allows breeders to engage with COBR at a level that reflects their own needs and involvement, while collectively contributing to the future of the Australian Cobberdog.
The membership fee is 150€ per breeder, per calendar year.

Associate Membership is designed for breeders who wish to remain silent and access/utilise the COBR database without the additional obligations associated with Full Membership.
As an Associate Member, you may:
Access the COBR database
Register your breeding dogs (noting that dogs will not be eligible for Breeding Approved status)
Conduct trial matings and pedigree searches
Register litters and maintain breeding records within the database.
Associate Members do not have the following benefits:
Voting rights
Invitations to member meetings
Access to breeder support programs and resources developed for Full Members
Access for puppy buyers to services and benefits offered through COBR partner organisations
Listing on the COBR website as an approved breeder
Issuance of COBR pedigrees for puppies produced.
To be eligible for Associate Membership, applicants must own at least one female Australian Cobberdog with recognised breeding rights.

Full Membership is designed for breeders who wish to actively participate in the development and long-term vision of The Cobberdog Registry.
As a Full Member, you may:
Vote at General Meetings
Attend and participate in General Meetings
Nominate candidates for elected positions
Stand for election to the Board or other elected roles
Submit motions, proposals and recommendations for consideration by the membership and Board
Access member-only educational programs, resources and breeder support initiatives
Access benefits and services negotiated by COBR with partner organisations
Be listed on the COBR website as an approved COBR breeder
Receive official COBR pedigrees for registered puppies
Access and utilise all registry functions, including Breeding Approved status for eligible dogs
Full Members play an important role in shaping the future direction of COBR and are expected to uphold the organisation's Constitution, Code of Ethics, Standards and Rules, and all policies adopted by the Board.
To be eligible for Full Membership, applicants must own at least one female Australian Cobberdog with recognised breeding rights and meet any additional requirements established by the Board from time to time.

As a COBR member, you will gain access to a growing range of resources, educational opportunities, breeder support programs and registry services designed to promote health, temperament, welfare and responsible breeding practices. Most importantly, you will become part of a collaborative global network of knowledgeable, committed breeders whose best interests are the future of the Cobberdog.
